Benefits Plan

GrantsPlus understands that for smaller nonprofits, finding affordable benefits plans can be a challenge. For those GrantsPlus clients who elect to become GrantsPlus employees, we offer access to the GrantsPlus health benefits plan*. GrantsPlus provides a full plan including statutory, major medical, hospitalization, pension, and dental**. There are four tier options: single, parent and child/children, husband and wife, and family. In 2009, GrantsPlus provides three different plans, a PPO, POS, and EPO, through Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Please refer to the Empire Plan Summaries which can be found below for plan detail summaries.

All premium fees, including statutory benefits (approx. 9% of salary), major medical, and dental are provided on a pass-through cost basis.

Please note, GrantsPlus clients are responsible for payment of all benefits premiums in advance of provider payment due dates. All rates shown in the table below are the premiums required by the carriers per month and do not reflect employer policies on employee contributions.

* Dental coverage is an optional addition to either the PPO or the POS. It is not available as a stand-alone policy.

Employee Eligibility

  • Full time employees are eligible for all benefits and may elect coverage from any of the four tiers above.
  • Part time employees defined as those employees who work more than 19 hours but less than 35 hours per week, are eligible for individual coverage only.
  • Part time employees working 19 hours or less per week are eligible for statutory benefits only.

Pension
All GrantsPlus employees must participate in GrantsPlus's mandatory TIAA-CREF pension. The pension plan requires a 7% employer contribution after the first year of employment and 9% after the 7th year of employment. Employees must contribute 3% starting in their 4th year of employment.
